Kenyan heritage. Maasai identity. Political Struggle. Expressed through art, fashion, and lived experience between Kenya, Norway, and the USA.
I come from a family shaped by resistance and freedom. I am the son of Kenyan freedom fighter and author Koigi Wa Wamwere. Shaped between Kenya, Norway, and the USA, my work reflects an upbringing influenced by struggle, culture, and dreams. Art and fashion became my form of expression and escape.
From sourcing textiles in Nakuru to creating in the studio, each piece carries that journey.

Growing up in a world shaped by political resistance in Kenya, I learned that honesty carries more weight than perfection. Where voices are silenced, art speaks.
Me and my family were politically exiled to Norway — and Art became my escape through hardship — and taught me that expression is power. I make art that people can feel — and carry with them.
Moving between countries and cultures shaped the way I see the world. From Kenya to Norway to New York City, each place expanded my perspective — and continues to influence how I create.

My process begins without a fixed plan. Each mark is instinct — guided by memory and movement.
From sourcing textiles in Nakuru to creating in the studio, the process remains personal.

As the son of a freedom fighter, growing up in the Arctic, it was my love for Kenya’s vibrant colors and culture that shaped the way I create. Refined by Norway’s resilience and influenced by the raw energy of New York City, each piece reflects a blend of my worlds.

Shaped by where I come from, I create to connect.
My expression is never neutral.
It carries my culture, my identity, and my story.
Nothing I create is meant to be safe — it carries a legacy of expression
The work does not reproduce. Once it is gone, it is gone. Explore the collection — original canvases and hand-crafted garments, each one part of the journey.
